Using My Downloadable Course
  1. What are the content differences between an online course, a download/upload course, and a book-based correspondence course with the same title?
    1. Online and download/upload course content mirrors exactly what you would find in our print correspondence courses, and then some. Each course may include additional examples, more detailed coverage of certain topics, and extra questions to help you learn more effectively. The online and download/upload courses also include a glossary. Like the books used in home study, our online and download/upload courses are divided into several individual lessons, each containing a set of up-front learning objectives as well as end-of-lesson reviews.
  1. Once I purchase a download/upload course, can I start immediately?
    1. Yes, provided you are using the dedicated computer from which you plan on taking and completing the course. You will need to download the course to just one computer to insure you receive certification of course completion.
  1. I purchased the download/upload course. Now how do I access it?
    1. In order to access the course, you must download, install, and launch the course. If you have already downloaded and installed the course, simply click on the file where you saved the downloaded course and begin working. If you have not already downloaded and installed the course, open the PDF file attached to your confirmation email for step-by-step instructions. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read this file. To get a free copy of Acrobat Reader, visit http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
  1. How do I start my download/upload course?
    1. Once you have downloaded and installed the course, you simply return to the file where you saved the course on your PC and double-click it. Or, you can click the Start button, choose Programs, choose SuccessMaster CE and select CE Courses.

After filling out all the fields on the Registration/Log On Screen, you will gain access to the course. **Please Note** All fields must be filled out in order to log on successfully. In the User ID field, we recommend using your Social Security number or any number that can be easily remembered (this field requires a minimum of nine characters). In future study sessions, simply enter your nine-digit ID number and press the Enter key--the remaining information will appear automatically.

Note: this is NOT the same ID# you will need to upload your completed course results. Your upload order ID# can be found in the Registration/Confirmation email you received immediately after purchasing your course.
  1. Must I complete the download/upload course in one sitting, or can I come back to it later?
    1. Identical to traditional disk-based software, you can stop working and return to the course as you please. Our download/upload courses "remember" where you left off, so you can return to a given section at a later time. We suggest using the exit button provided in the course window to ensure this feature works properly.
  1. What is needed to complete a download/upload course?
    1. The computer-based course contains a required interactive tutorial that will acquaint you with the course, plus course content divided into lessons. Each lesson concludes with a lesson test/post test covering the material you have been studying. Ninety percent accuracy on the lesson test is required to pass. As you successfully complete each lesson, the main menu will identify the completed lessons by changing the circle next to the title from yellow to green. Circles will turn into stars within a module when you pass the requirements of that module. Circles will turn into stars within a lesson when you pass the requirements of the entire lesson by taking the lesson test/post test. **Please Note** Clicking through each screen of the tutorial is required, but the circle symbol next to the tutorial will not turn into a star. Rather, it will turn into a green circle, as it does not contain a lesson/post test.
  1. Does my enrollment expire after a certain period of time?
    1. The download/upload courses have no expiration.
  1. Is there a final exam?
    1. Download/upload courses include a final exam. However, not all states require students to take the included final exam to receive credit for the course. Please contact your school to determine if you need to take the final exam.

If a final exam is required, it works like this: After completing all of the lessons in your course (which might include passing all of the Post-Lesson Tests), you can click the Final Exam button. When you finish the final exam you will be informed if you met the passing criteria. If so, then you may begin the Upload process in order to transmit your course completion information to your school.
  1. If I don't pass the final exam on the first try, may I take it again? If so, is there an additional charge to take the exam more than once?
    1. If your state allows multiple attempts, you may repeat the final as often as you like. There is no additional charge.

Although it is possible to submit results for each course more than once, only the highest score within a pre-defined date range will be passed to your school with a single order ID/course combination.
  1. I have completed my download/upload course, so how do I upload my results?
    1. To upload your results, you must have successfully completed all of the lesson exams. The final exam must be completed if required by your state. Verify that all the circles next to each Lesson have turned into stars (except the course tutorial which should be a green circle.) Once they are indeed complete, follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Launch by clicking on Start > Programs > SuccessMaster CE > CBTResultsUpload.

Upon startup, the application will display all course titles installed on your computer.

Select a course from the list to display the names of each student enrolled in that course.

Select your name from the list (Only one name can be selected. Usually, only one name will be displayed, but it's possible for more than one student to be registered for course on a single computer, as is the case in a computer lab setting).

Finally, enter your valid order ID. (The order ID is included in the order confirmation email sent directly to you at the time of purchase. You may also contact your school if you did not save the email with this information.)

IMPORTANT: Results cannot be uploaded unless your computer is logged on to the Internet and you have provided a valid Order ID#. Your Order ID# can be found in the Registration/Confirmation email you received immediately after purchasing your course.

Upon successful submission, you will receive an email confirming the upload.

Your school will review your results and will notify you if you have satisfied requirements for your certification.
  1. The application keeps telling that it can't find an active Internet connection. What does this mean?
    1. Before uploading your results, your computer needs to be "logged on" to the Internet either through a standard dial-up connection or via a Network/LAN connection. If you do not have Internet access, you must obtain it through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) prior to uploading your results.
  1. I'm logged on to the Internet, but the application keeps telling me that it can't find an active connection. What should I do?
    1. The application determines whether you have an active Internet connection. It's possible that the website could be temporarily unavailable. Try waiting a short while to see if the problem ceases. If the application continues to tell you that an active Internet connection does not exist, contact Technical Support at 1-888-213-5124.
  1. Do I need a disk to send my results to my school?
    1. No disks are needed for online or download/upload courses. Your results are uploaded via the Internet by using the CE Course Upload Utility.
  1. How do I obtain CE credit for completing the course?
    1. Your REcampus Partner School will provide you with a certificate for your files, and a confirmation of course completion will be sent to your state regulatory agency. Please contact them directly with any questions on their process. Your REcampus Partner School's information can be seen in the Contact Us section of REcampus.
